How to delete your account and personal data

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act (DPA) 2019, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and data from Autosoft Shujaa's apps and services.

🗑️ How to Delete Your Data

You have two options to delete your data:

Option 1: In-App Deletion
  1. Open any Autosoft Shujaa app
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Tap "Delete Account" or "Delete My Data"
  4. Confirm your choice

Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@autosoftshujaa.com with:

  • Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • The email address associated with your account
  • The app(s) you want data deleted from

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm once complete.

⏱️ What Happens When You Delete

  • Immediate: Your account is deactivated and you can no longer access the Service
  • Within 30 days: All personal data, account information, and associated content is permanently deleted from our active systems
  • Within 90 days: Backup copies are purged or anonymized

📋 What Data Is Deleted

When you request deletion, we remove:

  • Account information (name, email, phone number)
  • Profile data and preferences
  • Usage history and analytics data linked to your account
  • Any content you created or uploaded
  • Device tokens and notification preferences

⚠️ What May Be Retained

In limited circumstances, we may retain certain data even after deletion:

  • Legal obligations: Data required to comply with Kenyan law, tax, or regulatory requirements
  • Dispute resolution: Data needed to resolve ongoing disputes or enforce our agreements
  • Anonymized data: Aggregated, non-personal data that cannot identify you
  • Security logs: Retained for a limited period for security and fraud prevention

Any retained data is stored securely and only for as long as legally required.
